It may not be a new thing, but it certainly continues to gain popularity and celebrity endorsements across the globe. So what is the big deal with Apple Cider Vinegar?
Celebs like Victoria Beckham, Hilary Duff, Katy Perry and Scarlett Johansson all praise the miracle elixir as one of their go-to routines for maintaining or even losing weight.
Oh and of course… little old me as well!
Apple Cider Vinegar has been part of the morning routine in my household for well over a year now,. I often tell clients to start staying bottoms up early in the day, but I guess, the taste can be pretty off-putting.
Hey, I never said Apple Cider Vinegar was going to be Yummy or easy!!!
ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) is great for your digestive system, and works as a natural detoxifier and appetite suppressant.
It also has some mystical and amazing weight loss super powers when used correctly and in the right doses.
Damn, you don’t want to be necking back half a pint of this stuff!
So what is it?
As the name may suggest, ACV is made from apples, they are crushed and thier fabulous juices are squeezed from them. They are then fermented turning the sugars into alcohols…. Hmmm. that be Cider then! The alcohol is then further fermented into vinegar! The whole process takes about 3 to 4 weeks before the ACV is ready to be consumed.
What Are The Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar?
This blog is predominant based on using ACV for weight loss, but there is way more to this little gem than just that. Here are just a few more areas that may benefit from taking ACV as part of your daily routine:

There is three ways that you can have your ACV on a daily basis. All of which will offer the benefits.
- Take a shot First Thing in the Morning
I literally do mean take a shot! Grit your teeth & pinch your nose… Bottoms up! I also add mine to my breakfast smoothies or throw it into a glass of water.
- Drink a glass Half an Hour before your meals.
Again, I would recommend that you either take it in a shot or mixed in with some water. This will help your digestion!
- Drink a glass when you feel like breaking your diet.
If you feel as though you are about to break out of your diet, screaming and shouting and binge on the first thing you see, then now may also be a good time to knock back some ACV. Mix this shot with a glass of water to really fight off any cravings.
How often should I drink it?
Dont go crazy if you are just starting out on your ACV adventure. Start slow!
Try one glass on your first day and see how you feel. The next day, you can maybe consider adding in a second glass. But never go about three glasses a day!
That’s just over the top & will more than likely hinder your progress, and the effectiveness of the drink.
How much should I have?
Start small! Too much too soon, and you are likely going to put yourself right off the whole journey.
I started with a tablespoon on my first day in a cup of water. Just a normal, regular cup. Nothing fancy.
You can work yourself up to 2 tablespoons per cup overtime, but don’t go above this. Take your time with it and see where your tastebuds lie with things. Don’t make yourself gag from overkilling it on your amount.
This is a real each to their own kind of measure. My hubby can literally neck back a load of it neat, where as I am a bit more gentle on myself.
What brand should I buy?
There is no right or wrong and it really depends on how much you want to buy and what your budget is.

When I was poorly with a bit of cold & sniffle, I turned to green tea and honey as my throat relieving “go to” friend. It dawned on me that I could combine both my fat burning Green tea and my fat burning ACV to supercharge my… erm… fat burning.
